As the internet world was in a frenzy yesterday waiting on Drake to release "Hotline Bling" , creating endless gifs and comparing D.R.A.M.'s first, "Cha Cha"; many missed the the release of new music from D.R.A.M., but don't worry I've got you covered. D.R.A.M. has teamed up with SZA and released an extended version of "Caretaker" and I'm loving it!
Based on a few tweets D.R.A.M. put out one would think the song comparisons are getting to him, but I think he knows his sound is hot after getting a nod from Beyonce earlier this summer and some reassurance via tweet from Erykah Badu

D.R.A.M is in the studio cooking up his next EP GAHDAMN! which is set to be released in 2016.
I'm really cheering for this guy and I can't wait to hear more new music from him soon.

Have you ever been a fan of an underground artist that you knew was gonna blow up? I know that I have. I still remember like it was yesterday, I was fan crushing hard for Lonny Breaux when he released The Lonny Breaux Collection. A few years later Lonny re-surfaced as Frank Ocean dropped Novacane from his Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape and I knew I would be seeing him live soon. Similarly, do you remember in 09 when Drake released So Far Gone mixtape? I do and it wasn't until it's release that I knew he was about to blow up. ELHAE is my new Frank x Drake and his AURA EP , released January of this year, is to his career what Frank Ocean's Nostalgia, Ultra and Drake's So Far Gone mixtape was to theirs-- a cornerstone to something promising in music.
There is something to be noticed about the Atlanta based artist. He's hungry, sounds comfortable in his own and he has a distinctive sound and it's refreshing. Since his bandcamp days he's been consistently putting out good music, picking up traction, collaborating with SoundCloud influencers like SPZRKT and Rascal and he is making his mark on a New York City stage, tonight at SOB's, alongside SPZRKT and Abhi/Dijon.
Guess who's in there like swimwear?! Yours truly. Oh, yes there are still tickets.

The contradiction is: I do fight for artists, but in that fight I somehow was disrespectful to artists. I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing. I just... I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee-Lo lose. Gnarls Barkley and the Future Sex album... Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking like, he deserves to win album of the year. And this small box that we are in as the entertainers of the evening. How could you explain that? Sometimes I feel like, you know, all this bullshit that they run about beef and all that, sometimes I feel like I died for the artist's opinion. For the artists to be able to have an opinion after they were successful. I'm not no politician, bro. And look at that. You know how many times MTV ran that footage again? It's been one heck of a week and I honestly don't have a lot to say or share today other than music because my heart is heavy. Since the last #SaturdayMorningTunes edition a lot of events have reminded me that there are people out there who just hate people. Most of them don't even know the people that they hate by name, but simply because they are not like them they disenfranchise, brutalize, discriminate and sometimes kill those who are black, gay, christian, muslim, female, poor --the list goes on. It's disheartening and it's heavy.
Compassion and understanding is something that has been instilled in me and that is what I will continue to practice during these hateful times. But it bothers me to know that people hate and kill other people for being different. People don't deserve to be stripped of their rights because of who they are, nor should people have to die because they are misunderstood.
If you have an ounce of hate in your mind about any group of people I would like to ask you to do some serious soul searching and if you are a victim of hate I wish you inner peace and strength.

ELHAE, pronounced LA, serves as an acronym for, Every Life Has an Ending, is an Atlanta based artist that has made quite a name for himself (pun intended) on the blogs and internets. With this name making he has also created a consistent buzz with his single track releases for a while now and he's managed to cop and interview with Soultrain.com (read here) and a premier release from vice.com for his new EP "Aura". With a little help of google - the background info is all new news to me and all I know is Soundcloud is a godsend and with it's notifications I've been getting these 'Rap n B' tracks from the source.
If you've been tuning in to my weekly segment called #SaturdayMorningTunes you may have noticed this guy's name on a couple of tracks.

Happy Saturday! It's #SaturdayMorningTunes day again and last week's edition (this is your cue to click here and listen) got a lot of positive responses! One in particular came from one of my blogger crushes, Tashira, of Politics and Fashion Blog.
This week my music taste has been giving the drummer some -- and by drummer I'm talking about some of the best producers in music. It all started with Lion Babe featuring one of J Dilla's tracks as their #trackoftheday on Spotify and from there my audio palate was set --searching for a particular sound that I can't describe. Happy Saturday! It's #SaturdayMorningTunes day again and I must say that I am loving Jazmine Sullivan's new album, but I promise I won't shared the whole album -- just snippets. Aside from her 'Mascara' track which I share on Instagram she has a couple more solid tracks that are worth listening to. But Ms. Sullivan has not been taking up ALL of my time.
