It's been one heck of a week and I honestly don't have a lot to say or share today other than music because my heart is heavy. Since the last #SaturdayMorningTunes edition a lot of events have reminded me that there are people out there who just hate people. Most of them don't even know the people that they hate by name, but simply because they are not like them they disenfranchise, brutalize, discriminate and sometimes kill those who are black, gay, christian, muslim, female, poor --the list goes on. It's disheartening and it's heavy.
Compassion and understanding is something that has been instilled in me and that is what I will continue to practice during these hateful times. But it bothers me to know that people hate and kill other people for being different. People don't deserve to be stripped of their rights because of who they are, nor should people have to die because they are misunderstood.
If you have an ounce of hate in your mind about any group of people I would like to ask you to do some serious soul searching and if you are a victim of hate I wish you inner peace and strength.
