The moment we choose to love we begin to move against domination, against oppression. The moment we choose to love we begin to move towards freedom, to act in ways that liberate ourselves and others. That action is the testimony of love as the practice of freedom. -Bell Hooks
Mercury is finally out of Retrograde and this shift wrecked havoc EVERYWHERE. Aside from retrograde, this week has taught me a lot about patience, compassion and what it means to love others despite their craziness. From that person who doesn't share the pole on the train during rush hour to David Eric --the officer in McKinney, TX to for Rachel Dolezal to just learning to have patience with myself.
Life is all about experiences and not all of them will be the most pleasant, but growth is inevitable and the ultimate goal for me is freedom. Looking at life from a different perspective helps and that is why I chose this quote by Bell Hooks. If only people would begin to love people for who they are and not the idea of them will we finally all become free. There would be less police brutality, less dysfunctional relationships and more understanding.
searching for beauty and freedom. i found it in compassion.
